Bavaria Lagoon 42 |
Brief Notes |
Builder |
Bavaria Yachtbau Gmbh, Germany |
The Bavaria
42 Lagoon of the 1980s is a very different cruiser from the
current relatively lightweight Bavaria 42 range. Designed
by Axel Mohnhaupt, and built to a very high standard in West
Germany, they are fairly heavy, powerful offshore cruisers.

The original Bavaria 42 'Lagoon' sold when new for more
than a comparably sized new Moody, reflecting the aim of the
company to produce a quality yacht. With a comfortable and
very spacious interior in hand-rubbed mahogany, the Lagoon
42 was a genuine long-distance passage-maker. An indication
of the difference between these 'old' Bavarias and the current
versions is that this 42 actually displaces substantially
more than the current Bavaria 49. |
