The Explorer 45 combines a traditional long-keeled
hull form with a deep centre cockpit and low fixed windscreen.
She is cutter ketch rigged with a self-tacking boomed staysail
on the mainmast.
Designed by Stan Huntingford from Vancouver in Canada, and built in the late 1970s in Taiwan, the hull of the Explorer 45 is solid GRP, heavily laid up
with woven rovings. The interior is fitted out to a high standard
in teak, and has a large aft cabin accessible from the saloon
via a low passageway.
