The Lynx 29 is not
a common yacht, but is nevertheless well worth looking at if you
are looking at Moody 28s or 29s, Sadler 29s, or similar high-volume
family cruisers. Although the example illustrated here is wheel-steered,
most of these boats were tiller-steered. As with the Leisure 29,
the engines were single or twin-cylinder Volvos with Saildrive. |

The Lynx 29 was designed by Frank Pryor for
Jaguar Yachts. The design evolved from the Leisure 27, which
was then enlarged to create the better performing Leisure
29, of which about 30 were built
After production of Leisure 29s ceased, the moulds were
taken over by Jaguar Yachts, who marketed it as the Lynx 29.
It has a slightly modified interior from the Leisure branded
boats, with extensive inner GRP mouldings. Less than ten were
built. Externally she has clean modern lines, and deep and
fine-sectioned bilge keels with a 45% ballast ratio for good
performance.
Both bilge keel and fin keel versions were built, bilge-keelers
being more common. Most were originally tiller steered, though
this yacht has been fitted with wheel steering.
