The 1996 to 2000

an excellent double aft cabin. The layout is unusual in fitting

The Moody 36 was designed by
Bill Dixon in 1996 as a slightly more performance-orientated
replacement for the 1990-96 Moody 35. As such she has a fairly
shallow hull form and quite a low-profile coachroof, resulting
in saloon headroom of 6 feet exactly. Headroom apart though,
the interior is very spacious and well laid out, with lots
of locker space and very nicely finished teak woodwork.
The design remained in production until 2000, and 118 were
built.
Through the 1990s Moody were in direct competition with
Westerly, and both companies were steadily raising the standard
of the fitout and detailing. Like her predecessors the Moody
346 and 35, the deck line of the Moody 36 is easily mistaken
for an aft-cockpit yacht if dodgers are fitted, making this
a much more elegant yacht than the higher-decked Westerly
equivalents. |
