Nicholson 31 |

Camper & Nicholson, Southampton |
The Nicholson
31 is a very strongly built all weather cruiser with a good
turn of speed. Nicholson 31s had a long production run, and
have always been sought after as serious long-distance cruisers. |

The Nicholson 31 was designed as a replacement for the
famous Nicholson 32, and proved an immediate success. A foot
more beam and higher freeboard than the 32 made her a much
more spacious boat below with excellent headroom, a proper
sit at chart table and up to 6 berths. The long keel and transom
hung rudder appealed to single-handers, which is why you see
so many 31s with self-steering gears.
The quality of the mouldings and the fit out was to an exceptionally
high standard. Overall, the Nicholson 31, although shorter
and with slightly less draught than the older Nicholson 32,
is faster in almost all conditions, and offers much improved
accommodation. |
