Sweden Yachts was set up in 1976 to build one Americas Cup yacht - "Sverige", but progressed to building a range of high quality fast cruisers. The company always focused on well engineered boats, and they have always been expensive when new.

The Sweden Yachts 34 was designed by Peter Norlin in 1975, and around 300 were built between then and 1985. Built to very high standards, they offer fast coastal or offshore cruising with a very comfortable interior, laid out to be practical at sea as well as in harbour.

Teak laid decks were usual, with wide side decks. The shroud bases are set well in, giving good genoa sheeting angles, and allowing you to walk either inside or outside them when going forward. The shroud loads are taken by an expensively engineered system of fore and aft beams under the deck head, transmitting the loads to the bulkheads

The accommodation starts with a forecabin with two berths, convertible to a good sized double, aft of which is the heads, and a large hanging and storage locker space. The saloon has a U-shaped dinette, which converts to another double berth

Opposite the dinette is a good linear galley, with plenty of stowage and working area, and the chart table, which takes a half-folded Admiralty chart. Aft there is a large double berth under the cockpit. The interior joinery is in mahogany.
