This is the relatively rare twin keel version of the Westerly Seahawk 35, a moderately heavy displacement centre-cockpit cruiser that combines very good accommodation, with a particularly large double aft cabin, with the solid build quality and generally high standard of interior joinery of the later bigger Westerlys. This yacht has been in the same ownership for 18 years, and is only now reluctantly for sale because of the owners inability to use her fully. She is currently afloat in Falmouth, but is booked to come ashore for a period in November.

Sailplan

The Westerly Seahawk 34 was introduced in 1984, and in 1988 a 'sugar scoop' transom with bathing platform was added to create the Seahawk 35. In 1990 the design was modified slightly again to become the Oceandream, which then in turn became the Oceanquest, all on the same basic 34 foot hull and deck design. The same hull with a different deck moulding was also used on the aft-cockpit Falcon.

At various times Westerly offered different interior finishes, with light ash or teak bulkhead veneer interiors, and either wood veneer or vinyl as saloon headlinings. The quality of the interior joinery improved as the design evolved, this yacht being one of the very last Seahawk 35s built. She has a teak interior.

Despite the fairly high profile of the coachroof, the Ed Dubois-designed hull has a reputation for good sailing performance, and the interior space is excellent, the layout particularly popular for use by two couples. Interior headroom is very good, being 6' 5" in the saloon, and not that much less forward and in the aft cabin.
