The Westerly Oceandream was designed by Ed Dubois as a spacious family cruiser, with serious offshore potential. They have very good accommodation, with a particularly good double aft cabin, and the solid build quality and generally high standard of interior joinery of the later big Westerlys. This yacht is the last Oceandream to have been built, and is in only her second ownership from new. She has a good inventory including heating, radar and a full 'camper' cockpit enclosure.

Sailplan

Introduced in 1991, the Westerly Oceandream is a development of the Ed Dubois designed Westerly Seahawk design which was built in Mk I and Mk II models from 1984 to 1990. The main difference between Seahawks and the Oceandream was an improvement in the quality of the interior joinery.

Only 8 Oceandreams were built, before the design was again modified, this time with a new deck moulding, to make the Oceanquest, which remained in production until 2000.

Deck

Whilst the teak in the cockpit is in reasonable condition, the teak on the deck is approaching the end of it's life. The boat could be sailed on for one, two or five years without difficulty, but eventually this teak will have to be removed and replaced - either by "fake teak", Treadmaster non-slip, or simply non-slip paint.
