Sailplan

The Ohlson 35 was designed by Einar Ohlson in Sweden in 1970 as fast cruiser that also met the requirements of the " three-quarter ton" RORC racing class. One of the earlier boats "Flashlight", had some minor modifications resulting in her winning her class in the RORC Points Championship in 1974, and these modifications became standard in the Mk II versions of the design.

All these 1970s generation Ohlson 35s were moulded by Tylers, one of the best GRP moulders, and fitted out by a variety of quality builders as well as Tylers themselves. They are not to be confused with the earlier long-keeled timber-built Ohlson 35s. They have an encapsulated lead ballast keel with about a 41% ballast ratio and a separate rudder on a partial skeg. They can make fast cruising passages in all weathers, and handle beautifully under sail.

"Nanuk" is a very well maintained example of this classic and very elegant yacht, She has a white Awlgrip-painted GRP hull, skeg-hung rudder, and lead fin keel, good sails and a very attractively finished interior.
