The Spanish built Ronautica Ro330 is little known in the UK, but is a very attractive and quite fast cruiser-racer, with an excellent combination of performance and accommodation. This well equipped example was launched in early 2003 with the larger 29 hp engine option, and has clearly been well looked after. If you are looking at a 32-34 ft fast cruiser, perhaps with an eye to some club racing as well as cruising, have a look at this as well as the usual Beneteaus., Jeanneaus and Dufours.

Ronautica Ro330

The Ronautica Ro330 was designed for the Spanish builder Ronautica SA by Barracuda Yacht Design of Madrid. The design is aimed squarely at the fast cruiser market, with a very civilised interior in a well ballasted hull with quite a large sail area for her size. The standard engine was a Volvo MD2020 19 hp, with this yacht having the larger 29 hp option.

The design was built from around 2000 to 2005, with around 100 built. It was renamed the Ro340 later, without any real change in specification. Two versions were built, this being the cruising/club racing version with 5' 5" draught and a bulbed iron keel, the other being a racing version with deep unbulbed lead keel of 6' 3" draught.

Her nearest equivalents are probably the Beneteau First 30.7 or 310, the Jeanneau Sunfast 32 or the X302, though the Ronautica has a substantially higher ballast ratio and slightly larger sail area than all of these, with ballast ratio at 40% compared to the others 28-30%.
