Fractional sloop

The Maxi 1000 is a modern aft-cockpit fast cruiser with a particularly easy to handle fractional rig, with single line reefing and a self-tacking staysail for "cruising mode". The interior is nicely finished in cherrywood, with more stowage than in many other marques. This is a very well looked after example, with a good inventory, set up and equipped for easy cruising single-handed or by a couple.

Sailplan

The Maxi 1000 was designed for Nimbus by Pelle Petterson, and was introduced in 1992. With quite a large sail area on a relatively lightweight hull, plus a good ballast ratio, she is very much a performance boat, although she is also very easy to handle. The package is topped off with a very well finished and comfortable cruising interior in cherry joinery. This yacht for sale is fitted with a tiller as originally intended by the designer and is very balanced and light on the helm.

The Maxi 1000 design was phased out in late 2002, being replaced with the slightly larger but very similar styled Maxi 1050.
