The Sun Fast 37 is a moderately fast cruiser-racer, combining spacious and comfortable accommodation for family cruising with good performance under sail. This is the three cabin version, giving six berths without having to use the saloon, though one more adult and one child can also find berths in the saloon if needed. The owners since 2010 have now bought a larger and much newer yacht.

Sailplan

The Sun Fast 37 and the cruising-orientated Sun Odyssey 37 which share the same GRP hull moulding, were designed for Jeanneau by Jacques Fauroux, and introduced in 1999/2000, the Sun Fast 37 replacing the Sun Fast 36, and the Sun Odyssey 37 replacing for the Sun Odyssey 36.2.

The hulls are solid hand-laid GRP, with Kevlar for added strength in high-load areas. There are moulded-in longitudinal stringers and floor grids. Unlike Beneteaus of similar age, and current Jeanneaus, there is no single full-length inner moulding, though there are large sub-mouldings forming the GRP heads and engine compartment bases. The deck is balsa-cored, with a moulded inner lining.

The Sun Fast 37 is Jeanneau's "club racing" version of their Sun Odyssey 37 cruiser. Although not an all-out racer they offer a substantial performance increase over the cruiser versions, with a keel-stepped taller rig instead of the deck-stepped mast of the cruising version, plus better deck gear and a deeper and heavier lead keel. In turn the interior used more laminate in some areas rather than wood veneer compared to the Sun Odyssey cruising version, to help cope with crews packing wet spinnakers below.

In 2001/2 Sunsail bought a fleet of these 37s for charter and class racing use. This yacht for sale is one of those yachts, which has now been in private family use since purchased from Sunsail.
