Despite the current uncertain financial climate, and the fact that new boat sales are struggling, the used boat market is still reasonably active. Good used boats are selling, perhaps because customers are seeing savings acounts earning virtually no interest, and they would prefer to spend the money on an asset that will give them pleasure. The present GBP/Euro exchange rate, although not as low as it was in 2010/11, is also still encouraging some continental foreign buyers to look at UK based yachts.

We have recently been asked by clients to find yachts of the following types:

32-35 ft yacht with pilothouse/internal steering position eg Southerly, Moody Eclipse or similar

Southerly 100 or 115 lift-keeler

Sweden Yachts 34/36 or similar high quality fast fin-keel cruiser up to £60,000/£70,000

Moody S31 bilge keels

We are often asked for 30-35 ft plus bilge-keeled yachts, and rarely have enough choice to offer!
