For paid adverts, we will give you payment details for online payment by bank transfer or via Paypal

We strongly suggest that you do not use your regular or main email address for adverts - this can attract "spam". Some ISPs offer extra "throwaway" addresses for this purpose, or you can set up a Gmail or Hotmail account specifically for use for your advert.

If you do this though, do make sure to check this
new email account for mail regularly!

The other thing to be aware of is that online adverts sometimes attract scammers. Usually they are obvious (eg - offering full asking price and saying they will arrange to send a parcel courier to collect the package) - but sometimes less obvious. Be especially wary if buyers who have not been to see the boat offer to pay by cheque or bank draft. Bank drafts, particularly overseas bank ones, are very unsafe forms of payment. Do NOT assume a cheque or draft has cleared because the funds show as "cleared" or "available" in your account.

Interbank transfers are in general much safer, but be wary of a "buyer" who says he has made a bank transfer, but has actually deposited a cheque into your account. UK bank cheques and drafts actually take longer than you think to fully clear - till then they can bounce. Foreign cheques and bank drafts can bounce weeks later!

Anyone who pays a bit over the asking price and asks for the difference to be paid to his "delivery agent" or similar is 99.9% certain to be a scammer.

Any pictures that you send may need to be resized or cropped to fit our advertising format. If this is necessary we will do this.  We reserve the right to edit text to match our normal format for yacht sales advertisements. We also reserve the right to refuse advertisements for boats in "project" condition.
