The Maestro 35 is an unusual yacht, certainly in the UK, but is a interesting fast and seaworthy cruising yacht from a quality Finnish builder. She has full teak decks which are well worn but sound, and has been extensively cruised around the west coasts of the UK and Ireland in the 12 years of her present ownership, from a base in the Isles of Scilly.

Sailplan

The Maestro 35 is a quality fast cruiser built by Maestro Boats on the island of Oja. This is a small island on the Baltic coast of Finland which is a renowned area for the construction of quality yachts with Baltic Yachts and Nautor Swan also based there.

The Maestro 35 was designed by Eivind Still, and the design shares a lot of similarities with the 1980s/90s Swan 36-2 by German Frers, the one obvious difference being the separation of the cockpit from the companionway. This arrangement allows for a very good double aft cabin, with access to the heads either from a door by the chart table, or a second door from the aft cabin.

The Maestro 35 was built with a choice of keel draughts and a choice of fractional or masthead rigs This yacht has the deeper lead keel with a ballast ratio of 44%, a keel stepped double spreader masthead rig and a racing-style complement of powerful self-tailing winches to handle the substantial sail area.
