This is a lightly used 2007 example of these popular family cruisers. This yacht is a shallow bulbed keel version with the preferred "owners" internal layout, giving a very harge double aft cabin and spacious heads. She has a good inventory including a full 'camper' cockpit cover and excellent sails, and has just been gritblasted back to gelcoat ready for the new owner's choice of applying Coppercoat or antifouling.

Sailplan

Introduced in 2007, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i was the replacement model for the Sun Odyssey 35, of which 900 were built from 2002 to 2006. The 36i is slightly longer and beamier than the earlier 35, but has a very similar internal layout. The slight increase in size, and the beam being wider aft, make the boat feel significantly bigger both internally and externally than the preceding 35 model. Structurally the GRP hull has an extensive inner moulding, and the deck moulding is a one-piece injection moulded unit that Jeanneau calls "Prisma". Both the 35 and 36i were designed by Marc Lombard.

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i was built with several options, externally you could have a shallow bulbed fin keel (as in this yacht), or an optional deeper keel with a smaller bulb. This yacht has the standard rig, although a racing rig with taller mast was an option. Internally there could be either one or two double aft cabins, this yacht having the "owners" version layout which had a larger aft berth and larger heads. Most boats sold to private owners were the "owners" version, with the versions with two aft cabins mostly sold to charter operators in the Mediterranean.

The Sun Odyssey 36i remained in production until around 2014, when the range was altered: the replacement models were the 349 or 379, both of which had chined hulls, also designed by Marc Lombard.

Above: This yacht is the shallow fin version: the keel having a large flattened bulb that is almost a wing keel. Over winter 2022/23 the underbody was professionally grit-blasted back to gelcoat to remove all old antifouling. The new owner can decide whether to have her Coppercoated

or to apply conventional antifouling.
