About the Yacht

"Alcyone" is a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35, a popular mid-sized cruiser with a particularly spacious and bright interior. This yacht is an owners version with a very large aft double berth, plus another double in the forecabin, and the saloon can also provide another single or double berth if needed. She is MCA coded for category 2 — up to 60 miles offshore — and is available for bareboat or skippered charter from Easter to October.

The Sun Odyssey 35 was designed for Jeanneau by Marc Lombard and introduced in 2003. She has a high-volume light-displacement hull, matched to a deep narrow keel with a large trailing ballast bulb and deep spade rudder. She has a fairly large masthead rig with twin spreaders and a baby stay. The mainsail has slab reefing with lazyjacks, and the genoa is on a roller. A demountable inner forestay is fitted to allow use of a storm jib with the genoa furled.

The engine is a Yanmar 27 hp inboard diesel, driving a fixed two-bladed prop on a P-bracket sternshaft. Inventory includes a 2.9M or 3.1M inflatable dinghy and 2.5 or 3.3 hp outboard. The yacht has MCA coding and full safety equipment, including full instrumentation, two independent colour chart plotters (at chart table and in the cockpit), DSC VHF and handheld VHF. She has Eberspacher ducted hot-air heating to all cabins.

Accommodation

The accommodation starts with a double forecabin, with plenty of locker and changing space. The saloon has a U-shaped dinette, the table of which can be extended to port and also converted to another double berth. To port there is a large heads compartment with separate WC/shower stall, and to starboard, aft of the L-shaped galley, is a very large double berth in the aft cabin — 6' 5" by 6' 2", which can be slept in either fore and aft or athwartships.

The galley has a large refrigerated icebox, twin sinks with pressurised hot and cold water, and a two-burner, grill and oven gas cooker.

Charter Terms

Weekly charters are normally Friday to Friday, though other periods can often be arranged. The yacht is available for bareboat or skippered charter from Easter to end of October 2026.
